I kinda like Ice Man...just because he looks pretty cool *shot*.. He never receives enough attention!

Of the legitimate X-Men? Gambit. Done.

If we get into villains and miscellaneous characters, though, I'm a sucker for Spiral--you know, the chick with the robot arms and the samurai helmet that hung out in the Mojoverse. She completely curbstomped the entire X-Men on at least one occasion, but the entire lineup of Mojo characters are so silly that no self respecting writer ever wants to touch her.

And as much as I hate Wolverine, I adore his old rogues gallery. Sabertooth, Omega Red, Lady Deathstrike... most of which are dead or MIA. New Marvel makes me so mad sometimes.

I like Rogue and Nightcrawler because of their abilities. Rogue because whenever I'm asked what superpower I'd like to have, I can never decide, so I just say power stealing. Nightcrawler because he was one of my favorite characters to play as in the X-Men games for the Genesis since I didn't have to worry about walls and I got hit by enemies less. But I've always thought Cyclops looked the coolest. He wears a red visor and shoots frickin' laser beams out his eyes! How is that not awesome?!

Iceman and/or Psylock. Iceman's art got pretty sweet after the White Queen got a hold of him, and Psylock is pretty much the epitome of hot. She's a damn ninja with psychic weapons? Yes please.

Oh, and definitely can't forget Shadowcat. A lot of creative use of her powers in the comics...and she has a pet dragon.

I always liked Rogue cause I used to watch the cartoon, and she was strong and kickass! Plus, she had the most awesome way of talking, I thought. I wished I could talk like her (Southern accent). To my horror, I grew up and realized that I already had my own hick accent by default and had just never realized it. >_<

Almost everybody likes Wolverine / Gambit for obvious reasons.

But I think Angel is very underrated.
Granted in a Universe as big as Marvel U they've utilized him, but I don't think he ever got the mainstream non-comic book recognition as the other 'popular' X-Men.

Think about it:
He's rich, has a daddy complex, traumatized by events in his life, embarassed (was at one point) about his mutant abilities, unlucky and despite it all his appearance can lend credence to the actual existance of Biblical Angels.
There's so much that that Angel can be built up as.

I wouldn't even mind an animated show / DVD movie starring Angel on his own.

Hmm, I feel the opposite. But then, she had a mohawk when I first started reading X-Men (ca. 1981?), so it was weird for me when she grew her hair out!

Anyway, mine by far is Havok. He's the only one I really follow. Well, him and Polaris.

Alex has had so much crap thrown at him since the '60s that you never know if he's going to be a "good guy" or a "bad guy", just like most real people. I was way into X-Factor in the mid-'90s when Alex took over the team, and what a cool team it was.

It's weird because I'm the older, brown-haired brother while my younger brother is blonde, and he's the one who's always been in my shadow, and yet...Havok is just so much more fun to read than Cyclops most of the time!

And his girlfriend is Polaris! 'Nuff said?

Hope he's doing ok out there in Space Prison...

Havok will be featured in the X-MEN FIRST CLASS movie directed by Matthew Vaughn (KICK-ASS).

Haha, I hear ya there... I never knew I had an accent until I went to Germany... Between that and talking to my cousins in Michigan I've realized I have a helluva Texan accent.

Rogue - First saw her from the 90s animated series and I immediately fell in love with the concept of her blessing/curse type of ability.

Rogue also got me hooked into collecting comicbooks. I used to only buy comics where she is in it and I even got Avenger's Annual #10 (her first appearance) where she almost singlehandedly defeated Avengers.

I haven't gotten any comics about her recently though so I have no idea if she's still as cool as I remember her to be but either way, she will forever be my favorite X-(Wo)man.

For me, Wolverine and Cyclops. I liked how they were on opposite sides of the spectrum as far as personality goes.

I'd say nightcrawler mostly cause i'd love to be able to teleport. Plus I just really liked him as a character in the comics and cartoons.

Beast was one of the best until they turned him into a Thundercat.

Gotta go with X-23 now, because she's the only character who currently has real problems, weaknesses, and room for growth. She's not as inherently invincible (at least emotionally) or infallible as the others have become, and she really is out of place wherever she goes. All that makes her more interesting to me.

Psylocke. I liked the air of mystery around her, she always seemed confident, sexy, and sleek. Beast would be a close second. I was very disappointed with X-3 because of how he was done, and I'm really hoping the new movie has a more likeable version of him.

If it's just X-Men characts in general; though, I've always loved the Sentinels. The fact they represented a government-sanctioned weapon against a specific group, and how they added weight to Magneto's claims of "it's us or them." I always thought they summed up the themes of discrimination within the series. And, well, I like big robots. :x
