I need help creating a template from...

So.
I want to create a template for goldenirises.smackjeeves.com
PROBLEM. I know very little about html.
I like the layout used on the template I already have, but I want to use my own background image. However when I try the background goes white and things get skewed.

So can someone help me with this. I just want to change the background. ;a;

What template are you using?

In your overall layout, you should be able to scroll down and find this:

After the @import, you should be able to just put in your new background:
