Animal Crossing General (Open dem Gates!)

House buildan, fruit plantan, fishan and bug catchan, blah blah blah, welcome to Animal Crossing! The magical world where human children forgo their homes and parents to go live in the woods with animals like a bunch of hippies.

I still remember the first time I saw a commercial for the port/US release of the original Animal Crossing on the Gamecube, and that one commercial was all it took to make me obsessed. Playing the game for the first time felt magical, I not only loved the style but I loved the idea of furnishing your own house with all kinds of furniture and carpets/walls and even getting music to play in your house. That and just how different it felt from other games. The real-time clock, the animal villagers you could talk to, the seasons and events, the crazy number of fish and bugs to catch and secret items to find. It was right up my alley, and I don't even want to know how many hours I invested in it.

I hardly played Wild World, but when City Folk came along I was hooked again. There were some things I missed, like the houses all being in that cool little central area, being able to run errands for the townsfolk to get rewards without having to talk to them a million times and hope you get lucky, the hidden NES games... Oh, and grass. I miss having grass. ;___;
But overall there's still too much I love about City Folk to be upset about those things. I'll prolly just pick up a copy of Animal Crossing GC sometime and replay it anyways.

Aaaaanywho, I figured we should have an Animal Crossing thread. I want to kick myself for taking so long to try hooking up with SJers in the game. It kinda just dawned on me after seeing Spiral, Sushi and Dragonhat all talkin' about meeting up. Hadn't played with anyone online in years so I was quick to post my FC and open the gates, but it might be nice to go ahead and have a separate thread for it.
So whether it's in the Online ID thread or not, go ahead and post your FC's here as well as whenever your Gates are open to visitors! Or you can go ahead and plan specific visits and times, whatever floats your boat. Inb4 this thread dies immediately.

Right on, I'm gonna try to do some comic-ing in a sec but afterwards I'll hop on City Folk and check for open Gates. If there aren't any I'll post here and open mine~

Also, dammit, all three of the Peaches I got from Sushi died. Damn you game.
