Rules

    1) Use descriptive titles for your threads. Example: "How do I upload comics?" Do not use vague titles like, "question," "HELP! ANYBODY??"

    2) Describe your problem in detail. Explain exactly what is wrong. Post images, screen shots, links, code snippets - whatever is relevant. The better the information you provide, the better the solution you will receive.

    3) One question per thread. Do not post multiple questions in one thread; that way, we can resolve questions individually. Make a new thread for each question you have, unless your questions are closely related.

    4) Be polite. The more polite you are, the more people will want to help you. Be patient, and we will help you find the solution to your problem.

If your question has been resolved, please say so. A thank you would also be nice. If your question has NOT been answered, say so in the original topic. If your topic has been moved to resolved, you may then AND ONLY THEN post a new topic regarding the same issue.

Why can't I upload a page?

Postby JadeDrawerOnyx » June 30th, 2012, 12:59 am

My page is small enough and its .png but every time I try to upload a page after clicking 'submit' it takes a long time to load and then it just refreshes the page. It's my 1st time uploading a page so I'm really confused as to what to do.

Moved to New Questions. The Resolved Questions forum is for threads that have already been answered, so you're not going to get an answer if you post there.

Does the page show any error message at all?

Should be less than 500kb.
Try uploading using a different browser.

Png usually generates large filesizes, try JPG 90% quality.

No, it's the other way around, JPGs have large filesizes and PNG is smaller...Are you sure it's bellow 500kb. Sometimes if it's very close it won't upload.

It depends on the contents of the image. PNG is smaller for images with lots of solid-coloured areas, while JPG makes smaller files for noisier/more textured images.

I have a problem uploading pages, too. I just started today, so I apologize for my newbiness. Please tell me if I am doing something wrong!

Okay, I try to upload the page and it says that it's not a .jpg or .png or.gif

I checked and my page IS a .jpg. It's file size is 2.61 mb and its dimensions are 1500x1975. Is this too big? Why does my page refuse to be uploaded?

It's too big. If your comic has a free account, your page has to be under 500KB (the pixel dimensions don't matter). Sometimes it does give the file format error even when it's the size that's the problem.

@Disturbed Goth

Alternatively, you can use image hosting sites such as Imgur, PhotoBucket and ImageShack.
On a side note, having a webcomic as big as 1500x1975 would most often turn down possible fans.

I have on DA, but it says the URL is invalid. But I will try resizing it. Thanks!

Make sure you're using the IMAGE URL, not the page it's on.

Resizing is definitely a good idea. Horizontal scrolling for webcomics is a huge no-no.
