Super Minecraft thread GO!

In mining out my base on Paradox's server, I'm coming into possession of a LOT of cobblestone. Stone bricks help a lot to get rid of it, but I still have a lot left over.

I think I may know how to get rid of it, though...

Got on Paradox's server. Got myself killed several times. Checked out the town. I damaged it bit due to creeper attack. I did fix it. Met up with some guys. Got lost. Then started building a house on a mountain. So far I think I'm doing rather well.

This is more of a Minecraft-related music update than anything else.

First off, CaptainSparklez has released a new Minecraft music parody, this one called "Fallen Kingdom"

Also, it seems that my first attempt at a town-wide (the player town, not the castle town) prank on Paradox's server didn't quite go as expected - in fact, it didn't work at all. Fortunately enough, I was able to tweak it, and while it lacks the routine nature of the original it should still work.

Last night I went to the nether on Paradox's sever. A gast shot the portal which deactivated it. I died went back in and found myself on tiny island of pigmen. I left and returned with whole load of cobble and built some defense around the portal. I also built a nicely defended path to better land. Sorry if messing up the portals was annoying for anyone.

I've decided to try my hand at making an adventure map... or adventure/survival hybrid... I haven't really made up my mind yet.

However, one thing's for certain, it'll be a journey of a man from a destroyed kingdom to take back the power of the kingdom from the mobs. Something inspired by the "Fallen Kingdom" music video (the one in my last post).

I've had a bit of fun so far just learning the controls of Single-player Commands, just making a pier and lighthouse, and I'll probably move into using MCedit with the larger stuff once it's got a stable release.

No screenshots for now, seeing as there's not much to it yet and I don't want to spoil anything.

EDIT: Okay, just one, but it doesn't reveal anything about the plot thus far (in fact there is nothing about the plot in the map so far):

I'd hate to double-post so soon, but this is an actual Minecraft-related update: Mindcrack Ultra Hardcore Season 4 has started.

This time it's teams of 4v4, both on opposite corners of a pre-designed map to gather supplies and build out. The competitors are EthosLab, Docm77, KurtJMac and BdoubleO100 vs VintageBeef, PauseUnpause, W92Baj and GuudeBoulderfist.

For episode 1, I'd suggest viewing the perspectives of these three people (in order): W92Baj, EthosLab, and GuudeBoulderfist. The reason for three people over the two teams is that the second team listed above split into two independent groups for the season.

Oh, and a small Adventure Map update: I have completed my first puzzle! It's only a small one, and only for the sake of convenience, but it took a bit to work out how to implement it into the map effectively.

Yeah, and to prevent spoilers, I'm just going to say that there's a reason why I didn't choose VintageBeef.

Oh, also, has anyone heard of "YouAreMinecraft"? It's an event focused on supporting Minecraft and sharing oneself with the greater Minecraft community, all by recreating one's own skin. I've already participated, and I have to say it's quite fun; when joining the server just type "/home WardenNotes" to see it.

But here it is in a screenshot anyway, for those that don't want to join the server:

For anyone who enjoys the Super Hostile series of maps, Vechs has just released another one. This one is of a different style to his conventional maps, where instead of a series of caves or a unique open land, it's pretty much a modified Minecraft continent. Also, it's different in that there are four variations of the map, each with the same features but different chest/spawner/"Victory Monument" locations.

I'll definitely be playing the map, called "Lethamyr", when I get the chance (probably with variant C), and I encourage others to play it as well. Vechs is a great map creator, a devil in disguise, and from what I've seen from his videos and mentions from others, a great person all-round.

* * *

Oh, and related to this, I'd love to have a Skype session with about three or four people, where each of us plays different varient of the map at the same time. It would make for some fun, not just with the idea of sharing the landmarks but not the wool locations, but also just having a fun time together.

EDIT: I had a bit of a play of the map so far, going around and surveying the coast before dying in one of the dungeons, and it does look like the group variation would work... if we decide to allow starting over. The reason for this is that the map is designed to be played in Hardcore mode - one life, but shorter and potentially less dangerous dungeons. We get rewarded by experience and armour, but as I mentioned above, the chests have random loot between variations.

So... would anyone else be up for this? I'd love to take part, and if I do, I'll make sure to provide as much info as I can about what I saw in my first play of the map. I may even record my footage for YouTube, since I've been wanting to start a Minecraft LP for ages.

Yeah, you do, and so does Paradox.

I... *sniff* I have failed!

Lemanthyr is just too hard, and my computer has just too horrible a graphics card. The mobs overran me, and the framerate dropped the game into a slideshow. I had no choice but to overestimate a fall and hit the ground hard, dying on the spot.

At least I managed to get ten wool and an iron block, so I managed to make it halfway, which isn't entirely that bad.
