Hmm.. I heard the Adventure Time guy wanted to make an Adventure Time game that was a mix of Monster Hunter and Skyrim. He better still do that.

I remember playing it, and I was quite enjoying it... until I discovered that after a while the game becomes horribly laggy because of my connection.

Actually I did notice some lag but at least when you hit an enemy on your screen it definitely gets damaged. Makes detecting movement harder though, and my special seems to come out like 1 second after I press it.

HEY SEVEN should I bother withe the PS2 version of Rayman 2? From what I've read it seems like the second best version of the game besides the DC one. I remember you telling me to not bother getting the PS1 version so I didn't, but now that the PS2 version is on the store...
Speaking of Rayman I only owned Arena/M. It was ok but I'm pretty sure I probably owned one the least good game out of the entire proper series (Rabbids is not Rayman damn it...)

Unfortunately that was only if he had a big enough budget. I'm sure the 3DS game will still be awesome, though.

Actually I loved Arena, haha. Like all party games it goes from pretty fun to mind-blowing fun when you get a group of friends together to play.

Anywho I never played the PS2 version of Great Escape so all I have to go by is Wikipedia, but it sounds great. Only downsides seem to be a lower frame rate and music removal when revisiting some levels, as well as a couple levels you can't return to.

I've been playing with the new Perpetual Testing Initiative for Portal 2, and I quite like it. Not only is it easy to use and a hell of a lot of fun, but it's interesting how they've implemented voxel editing into dynamic map making. Nothing has come from me yet, since I'm testing with physics (primarily that of propulsion gel-assisted jumps), but I'll try and get a couple of decent tests out sometime in the future.

Also, since I now have money in my Paypal account, I have gone ahead and bought Rollercoaster Tycoon (the pack on GOG.com). If I had a life to live, I wouldn't anymore... at least for the next couple of days.

I rented Sonic Colours.
Spoiler! :
PRECISION PLATFORMING THAT REQUIRES YOU TO BASICALLY COME TO A HALT IN A GAME THAT ENCOURAGES YOU TO RUN FAST.
NOPE.

And before you ask, Generations wasn't there.

I swapped it with God of War 1+2 HD. Which I have never played any game in the series before so we'll see how this goes.

Welcome to the reason I don't care for most of the 2D games.

So... I just finished Just Cause 2.

The game certainly was fun, though it did tend to get a bit repetitive at times. In order to actually respawn in different areas you had to do "Stronghold Missions", which pretty much meant the exact same assault sequence each time, from storming the gates to killing the "Stronghold Commander". Also, the cut scenes were in-game animations using the models and their face controls, which is good if you've got a decent enough computer, but for someone like me who has a slow computer... you're going to be wishing that they were separate video.

It also had sort of a spy film vibe to it. You're an field agent on a top-secret mission to take down the president, but then it turns into not one, but two encounters with the president: the first in his base on the corner of a map, and the second... I'll keep this a secret, but it is kind of outlandish. These are just the main missions, though; the rest of the game you can just go out and grapple planes together and whatnot.

It's a great game, but if you want to play it for the story, you'd better have a decent computer.

The thing is since it has Unleashed's/Generation's "GOTTA GO FAST" mechanics and speed in it, and the whole reason I got it was to indeed run fast just like I did in Unleashed, when those platforming parts come up it feels very forced.

At least with the older Sonic's it feels more gradient and expected because the speed feeling was fast but never felt like it had 100% focus on pure speed, the precision platforming fit in better and felt honestly fine to me. Actually hell, the Adventure games are the same thing: Fast but not fast enough to make precision platforming feel out of place.

This one it's like crashing into a brick wall when you run as fast as possible then suddenly go into a platforming area, it's like it's shouting "THE SPEED IS HERE BUT YOU ALSO GOTTA DO THIS."

I just got Rayman Origins yesterday after not being able to find exactly 35$ in gift card credit for Amazon in any neaby stores.

Anyways, playing Origins has reminded me to get Rayman 2 ASAP, and I'm torn between getting a new, somewhat expensive Dreamcast version from Amazon, or getting the slightly watered down but cheap 3DS port whenever I manage to get a 3DS. From what I've seen and heard of Rayman 3D, it's a shoddy port of the Dreamcast version, with it's minor framerate, sound and lighting issues, whereas the Dreamcast version is extremely solid from the demos I've played. I've also had the misfortune of playing the awful DS version, and heard that the 3DS version curbstomps it nearly as much as the Dreamcast version.

Anyways, is there that big of a difference between the 3DS and Dreamcast versions of The Great Escape? Is it worth paying 70$ for the Dreamcast version and it's small but apparently important technical differences?

The 3DS version is awesome. All I've heard people complain about are minor bugs or framerate drops, but these never stuck out in my mind whatsoever.
I mean if you want to pay over twice as much for a better framerate and bigger screen be my guest, but the 3DS version is Elite Tier in terms of Great Escape versions.
Hell, I'd rather play the PS2 or N64 versions than the DC version due to the price and controller alone. I know it's supposed to be the supreme overlord of all Rayman versions but if I never have to touch a DC controller again I'll be one happy guy, haha.

Now, if you don't mind a less... Legal route... Disregard everything I just said and
Spoiler! :
burn it. Dreamcasts can play burned games without being modded. Your call.

Ooohhhh, interesting. I'll probably buy the 3DS version if this is the case.
