I didn't play much of the Legends series, but from what I played of the first one it was awesome.

And no offense, but you must be super picky with storylines. I've played countless games with great stories.
I love the story and characters of the X series and the Zero series, and I don't think they were just trying to milk Zero's coolness in the MMZ series... I mean, if you only played the 1st I can see why you'd think that, but after playing through all of them I think the story is great. The fourth one got amazingly epic toward the end.
I dunno, I just love the general theme of Human and Android relationships in the later series'.
I do agree that MMX7 and Axel were awful, but I thought MMX8 was surprisingly good. IMO It also had the most Epic Final Battle of the X series. (And as a Zero fan how could I not love playing a game where he gets different weapons? XD)

Then again, maybe you're not really picky as much as I am a huge Story-lover. :3
I always really get into the stories in games, so maybe I've just become more forgiving over time...

The second one blew me away, just everything was pretty much done near perfectly. I might be fanboying but my god that game was amazing. You need to get your hands on copy, you won't regret it.

Seven Rain wrote:And no offense, but you must be super picky with storylines. I've played countless games with great stories.

It's the curse of a perfectionist. Everything I see or create just seems to have potential to be that much better. I mean, I've made countless games that I've just trashed and stories, and sprites, and everything.
When I see an indie developer produce something, I can see a few flaws, but they don't really bite me all that hard. Because they're not nearly at the top yet. But it just irks the hell out of me when a professionally made game like Rogue Galaxy starts out so amazingly and then the story rushes full on into a pile of steaming feces. And it happens way too often. I mean, Rouge Galaxy was still an amazingly fun game. I just... wouldn't play it for the story again.

Then again... Maverick Hunter X was considered a cheesy remake of the original and a few people told me it wasn't worth the money, but I really did feel some empathy for X that time around for what he had to deal with. I did kind of do the face palm thing though when he started screaming, "ZZEEERRROOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" during the movie.

Yeah I'm a sour apple. I love stories, but they have to be good and fresh. That's really hard to find now days.

Also, I was playing audiosurf again. Guess which song I was playing? Hahahaha oh god I can't stop listening to it.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with having high standards, but sometime you should try... Well, it's hard to put into words. Basically, I know from personal experience that if you try and be a bit more open minded with plots and characters, games tend to be a lot more enjoyable in general.
Then again people also have different views on what makes games enjoyable so it just comes back around to the one true fact: Everyone has different opinions. ^^

Anyways, new subject: What do my fellow PS3 owners here think of MAG?
I for one am excited about it, which is odd considering it's a FPS. XD
The extensive customizing sounds really fun. I just hope it doesn't end up having everyone joining one particular side, making the game unbalanced.
Now what might this be?

Then I went off to play it on my laptop and found out it wont even load without an internet connection. WHAT!? That's... that's really annoyingly pointless. Especially since all I've heard about Valve is that they're meant to be the best games company since sliced bread.

Because there is no way to validate the copy of the game when it is offline, they have to make that concession, but I agree it can be really annoying. Also, steam is the distributor, not the games company, Valve, though both are considered one of the best in their respective classes. But to be honest, if you aren't really 'in' with buying games online and playing everything with the internet on it can be a bit frustrating.

Yeah Da Vinci is definitely one of your friends and you get to test out his inventions. The one we have been shown so far is the flying machine. It's in the E3 test level, and will be on youtube under a similar name.

Thanks for all the information, perhaps I'll search for a used game for GC :D thanks!

And if you were interested in Crisis Core, I really recomend it. I couldn't play FFVII (which is REALLY ANNOYING, but without a ps ._____. not much i can do...) but I know the storyline more or less. And I really enjoyed CC. To me the music is amazing, and the story caught me from the first time. I was completely in the story, and I wanted to continue with it, so I played quickly and in the end it got shorter than I expected XD but I could start again to do the things I forgot.
CC is the reason why now I kind of hate Cloud XD and that happened to some friends too. I prefer Zack :D

I'm still real early in FFVII, but I watched "Last Order" and from that alone I can tell I like Zack more, too. XD
I think it's his up-beat attitude. That's especially a plus for me, 'cuz the protagonists of my two favorite Final Fantasies, (Butz from FFV, and Zidane from FFIX,) are like that. (More cheerful than the other, more angsty heroes.)
Oh, and yeah, the Final Fantasy series has always had beautiful and awesome soundtracks. Thank lord Nobuo Uematsu for that. ;3

And if you ever do get a PSX, I recommend playing FFIX as well. It's probably the most underrated one of them all, but it's my personal favorite because it's so oldschool.
It's a lot more "fantasy" like the early series, instead of the more Sci-fi ones.
And Zidane is just plain awesome. :3

Seriously I hate the art for Final Fantasy games.

Tetsuya Nomura is the Rob Liefeld of Japan.

Seriously, in that picture Zidane isn't even holding that damn knife. You can tell he just pencilled it in because he fucking forgot. Also he always draws WAY TOO MANY ACCESSORIES. What are the purpose of those belts even for? Why is his left arm strong but his right arm isn't? Why would a kid like that have muscles? Why is he wearing ruffles without sleeves, but has cuff links anyway? AND WHAT IS WITH THOSE FUCKING JEANS?

AARRRGH I FUCKING HATE TETSUYA NOMURA.

No, Style>Substance is a bad thing.

The complete lack of anatomy is a bad thing . The utter lack of common sense in design is a bad thing. The fact he forgot to draw the hand holding the knife correctly is a bad thing.

It's in all of his art too.

Look at the overalls tidus is wearing very closely. They aren't actually overalls. It's a skirt. He's wearing a shirt, and pants underneath ripped overalls for no reason. Shorts with one pant leg ripped, and if you look at the right leg, he's wearing another pair of shorts underneath those. What is that thing hanging off of his collar? IS THAT A FUCKING EARING? WHY THE HELL DID HE DRAW AN EARING ON HIS COLLAR? Why is the chain on his right arm floating like that? HOW DOES IT FLOAT LIKE THAT?

Also, look at his hand, last time I checked you don't hold the tip of a sword handle, that's how people loose toes. You hold the handle close to the blade, that's called leverage. HE FORGOT THAT TIDUS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HOLDING A SWORD. AGAIN. That is how you can define Tetusya Nomura art. He's lazy, forgetful, and will make millions of more dollars than you and I ever will.

DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW CRAZY THAT MAKES ME?

Maaaaaan Gun, you really let loose. Well, I'd rather look at Zidane than a lot of the newer Final Fantasy characters. In fact, I think Zidane was one of the more well done characters but. Hey, whatever floats your boat. I really do prefer the character designs of the Dragon Warrior(Quest) games though. I know Akira Toriyama has a pretty bad rap for doing Dragon Ball Z because everyone over the age of 13 who isn't an anime fan pretty much considers it the worst anime has to offer(Mainly because they never try to hunt down anything that's really terrible.), but just check out the characters from Dragon Quest 8 and you'll see what I mean. The guy is really a genius.
I can honestly say the art in FF9 is better than some of the more recent Final Fantasy games. I mean, I just hate how more and more clothing seems to vanish over time. By FF12, the main character was half naked. I think after the Playstation era Square got cocky and decided they could just make a game with the final fantasy label and people would buy it. To be fair, they were right. It's kind of insulting though. Then again... "If it isn't broken, don't fix it." I'd assume at this point that Square is out for money not quality. I don't know if I really should be complaining though, because if I did the designs and/or story for an RPG, it'd either be retarded or depressing.

First off, Nomura didn't design the characters in FFXII. It was Akihiko Yoshida. Which is part of why FFXII sucked. XD

And y'know, considering Gun21's remarks on Kingdom Hearts II and Clamp, I can safely say he may be the one person who's opinion I don't respect or care about.
(You don't even try not to sound like an ass, do you, Gun?)

Whatever, I'm not even going to respond to him after this point. The last thing we need is a bunch of stupid arguments ruining the Gaming thread. >.<
No matter the case, there's absolutely nothing wrong with Nomura's artwork. I think it's brilliant, and I'm not the only one who thinks so either.
(Oh, and I agree, Akira Toriyama is another awesome character designer, and you just reminded me that I need to start playing DQVIII again. XD)

Yeah I kinda figured it was some piracy fighting thing but it seems a bit extreme, especially because there is the possibility that someone could buy it without having access to the internet and they're basically screwed then.
Still, if this is my only complaint about a game it's doing well.

Well, I guess I mean I really like Akira's characters because they actually look like they're going on adventures instead of a midnight rave or something. I mean, even in Chrono Trigger. The guy is just classy.

Also I need a violent game to play because I'm bored as hell right now and I want to relieve stress. The problem is Counterstrike won't run on this internet connection because this ISP waits about 200ms before sending or receiving data. You'd assume that'd make it really slow for downloading but I guess it doesn't. It's more of a giant delay rather than an inability to handle data, but it's horrid for any kind of gaming. I have a PC, a PS3, a PSP, and a DS. Everything else is either in storage or gone.

Oh, I agree completely. I love Nomura's designs but I know what you mean about Akira and that "adventure" look.
Some of my favorite JRPG character designs were that of DQIII, (also my favorite Dragon Quest game.)

Although call me crazy, but I like the cute shota version of DQIII's hero more than the original. :3
(See: My avatar. Yes, that's the DQIII hero for those not naughty enough to know what I got it from. XD)

No, I don't, I'm being perfectly honest with what I have to say. I hate Nomura, and loathe CLAMP even more so.

I don't care if you hate my opinion or respect it, because to be honest, I don't even consider yours.

What happened to Captain Nugget? If you hate my opinions you'd love his.
