Damn that game is good. Seriously. You can play solo or with a tag team, remap your controls, insert macros, play custom soundtracks...

...and so on.

Also, it seems you have a PS3. Add me, so we can play it together.

SO GUYS I GOT SFXT LET'S TALK ABOUT IT NOW.

Haven't even tried Toro or Kuro yet but I'm looking forward to that as well. THANK YOU PEOPLE WHO WALKED BY AND BOUGHT OUR USELESS SHIT AT THE YARD SALE TODAY, YOU PAID FOR THIS GAME.

Should I get this game, who would you suggest to start up? Please, no charge characters because they're a pain to handle.

By charge characters do you mean characters like Vega and Guile? If so don't worry because I'm not a fan of them either.

Anyways I guess it depends on how much you enjoy the average SF game. I've always been "Eh" when it comes to SF games, but this one is just... Incredible. It's so much more fun to me when I can play a Capcom fighter where the NPCs don't fight like SNK bosses or online kids, (though boss Akuma at the end of Arcade is still rage-inducingly both of these. I was able to beat him with King and Juri on PC but I just spent a long time struggling with King and Marduk because I wanted King's legit ending and I just can't handle Akuma with Marduk,) and SFxT NPCs are definitely a step in the right direction for the series. They actually, you know... Fight. Like Arc System Works fighters fight, not crouch+block 24/7 or Hadouken + Shoryuken spam.
The Tekken characters are especially fun to fight against and play as, and are easily the biggest reason I love this game so much. Not only do they rarely ever fall back into old aforementioned SF habits, but I love playing as them. Of course I still can't get enough of Juri and like to use the occasional Sagat, (and I want to start using Ibuki and Rufus... I just wish Makoto was in it. :C) but the Tekken characters are just crazy fun, and spice up the SF system a lot.

Though you should only consider it if you've enjoyed past SF games to an extent. I've always hated the NPCs and found most of the cast a bit dull, but I also had a blast playing SSFIV with friends, so it's not like I've ever despised SF. As long as you've enjoyed SF it's hard not to recommend SFxT... But if you've had a hard time enjoying SF games at all then I'd prooobably wait it out and see if you can get it cheap. *Cough*OrtorrentthePCversion*Cough*
Natch my suggestion would be to definitely try out the Tekken cast if you ever wound up playing it.
Now what might this be?

Okay. I'll attempt a Nina/Rolento team in case I rent (and maybe buy) this game.

So hey, I restarted playing Filia in Skullgirls. I may alternate between her and Valentine. But still, Valentine relies heavily on combos in order to make a crapload of damage.

Rent it first.
It's definitely more fun then SSF4 but after playing it I was really hyped about playing more of it for a week then literally forgot the game existed for a a little while after that.

It's great and ironically it's the best thing Capcom's pulled out in a while but I'm not sure.

Yeah, if the option is available renting is always a good idea.

So, which fighter game you folks plan on getting?

If someone plans to get Skullgirls to PC, let me know: this version will apparently have cross-gameplay with the PS3 version. Also, I will add you on Steam if you do get it. Just saying.

FFFFFFFFFF- My excitement for Arc's FotNS game faded when DGF reminded me of SBX, but now I've discovered that it won't play at full speed in PCSX2.
DISAPPOINT.

Raging Ghost wrote:So, which fighter game you folks plan on getting?

Unf.
Natch.
Spoiler! :
Assuming it's the version they release on PSN/XBLA, but it'd be silly if it wasn't.

Viruta Fighter 5FS (not 2D), Skullgirls in the far future when I can figure out if it'll be a DLC fest or not.

As far as I'm aware of, there will be cut alternate color palettes (like a Scanty palette for Filia and a Tira one for Ms. Fortune), Squigly and Umbrella.

-What's your favorite 2d fighter?
SNK's Last Blade 2 for Neo-Geo (which I played on MAME yeeears back). close second would be Samurai Shodown IV - which is one of the most beautiful 2D fighters I've ever seen.

-What kind of character do you usually go for?

female characters. always have. couldn't tell you why.
i prefer fast characters, and will gladly sacrifice strength for speed.

-What's your style(zone, rush, turtle, mash buttons like your life depends on it)?
a mix between zoning and rushing - depending on the type of character.

-What's your opinion on tier lists(necessary, unnecessary, gospel, stupid, can't be bothered)?
unnecessary.
