I missed you, old friend. Hopefully they also bring Blum back like they did for the April Fool's gig.

[AS] was technically always in control of Toonami, but Williams Street Studios was in-charge of Toonami before they started Adult Swim.

...So really TOONAMI was always the one in-control of ADULT SWIM!
Spoiler! :

But yeah they better not fuck this up. I don't just want a weekly nostalgia-stroke. I WANT SOME EFFORT PUT INTO THE CONTENT, DAMN IT!

Natch we differ on this but at least it's only one night a week, eh? If they simply pander to folks like me who want a carbon copy of pre-2004 Toonami you can rest easy knowing that if nothing else all they did was replace a block that was already nostalgia pandering of the [as] variety with some Bleach and Kekaishi episodes shoved in there.

Though that raises the question of what they are going to do with the current line-up... Are they going to move it? I doubt they'd drop a popular show like Bleach or stop airing FLCL and Bebop.
Worst case scenario would be them just staying the course with the same shows but with Tom bumps in-between, but considering this was all born from fan demand, I doubt they'll alter it from what they did for April Fool's.
Spoiler! :
Then again stuff like FLCL and Bebop could fit in with all the other oldschool shows, but if they leave everything intact there won't be any room for the shows that everyone was basically begging for. I just don't want to flip over to channel 31 next Saturday just to hear Tom go "And now it's time to kick it with Ichigo and friends."

I say they alter it a little.

Play the shows [AS] would naturally show(the new animes, Bleach, FLCL, etc.) But like for an hour of the programing play the old Toonami stuffs.(Gundam wing, DB/Z, Tenchi, etc.)

Spoiler! :
You have no idea how ecstatic I would be if Dragon Ball(Not Z just straight up dragon ball) Re-aired for a while.

That would only be two episodes a week, though.

Honestly Toonami wouldn't be enough to make me go back to watching [as] on Saturdays unless Toonami dominates the line-up. Toonami or not I don't ever intend to watch another episode of Kekaishi if I can help it, hahaha.

And yeah, DB would be awesome.
Spoiler! :
Except I wouldn't need to watch it because I already have the whole series on my PS3, dohohoho~

Would be cool to see the uncut version on TV for once, though. Same goes for all of the Toonami series for that matter. That's at least one argument in favor of the nostalgia pandering, because it's not just rehashing line-ups but also a chance to air a lot of the great Toonami shows unedited for the first time. Toonami got away with a lot, but there was still plenty of stuff they couldn't show.

Ooh! Good on ya, Hebert. Let's take a look see...

"Something you should know about THIS Toonami: We have very, very little $$. This experiment will need ratings success to receive more funding for new shows, more [mascot character] Tom animation, etc. I'm thankful for the $$ we've gotten, but it isn't a lot."

Yes this makes sense. We gotta continually show our support for them if we want this to not only stay on the air, but improve. That's a given and I am all ready to help make that happen as a Toonami faithful!
DeMarco said that he personally "love[s] One Piece and would love to see it on CN again" along with Gundam Wing. Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Fairy Tail, and Inuyasha: The Final Act are some of the "many shows we've been looking at" or discussed.

One Piece would be and AMAZING grab! The Funimation dub obviously, that one is great. Unlike 4Kids they actually do the show some fucking justice.
The anime titles will keep their theme songs, and Toonami "will make our own 'pre' intros."

YES! This was the original Toonami's ONE flaw, they didn't have room with all their intros and outros and bonus clips of stuff to fit-in opening credits.

I think when all is said and done this will be nothing short of a triumphant return! :D

Hmm... So in other words it'll just be a revamped [as] lineup until they get the mulah for some classics?
I guess it's hard to complain. They're bringing back Blum and getting rid of Kekkaishi from the looks of it, and I've been meaning to give Deadman Wonderland a watch. Looks like they more or less just found a middle ground between what people like me and people like Tezzle want to see, haha.
Spoiler! :
Also I'm kinda glad they won't air Naruto and I already have DBZ on my PS3. I was really hoping for YuYu Hakusho, though...

I still have Sins on my PS3, but for anyone who hasn't watched it yet this'll be great. Casshern Sins is one of the greatest anime series ever made if you ask me.
<3 Dio.

And One Piece and Fairy Tail would be awesome. I'd finally be able to watch the former from the beginning without having hundreds of episodes taking up space on my computer, and isn't Fairy Tail by the guy who did Rave Master?

*EDIT*
Come to think of it, Sins already has a dub, but who are they going to cast for Deadman Wonderland? The Wikipedia page only lists Seiyu, so I'm guessing it's never been dubbed. Hope they can get some legit VA's in there. The protagonist looks like total JYB material.
Spoiler! :
And is Seiyu their actual term for Voice Actors or did I just unwittingly use a nonsensical weeaboo term?

Sorry for the double-post but oh snap you guys, it started! That intro was short but sweet. Can't wait to hear some TOM and watch Deadman Wonderland.

*EDIT*
One thing I love about Bleach is that even when I have no idea what the hell's going on there are usually some great fights to watch.
Also dat soundtrack.

*EDIT*
Wow. Only a few minutes in Deadman Wonderland has already become serious X/Akira levels of fucked up.
And poor Ganta is so damned cute. D:
It's almost hard to watch.

Deadman Wonderland is the kind of show that discomforts me in a good way. Seems like a cool show but I can't imagine I'll rewatch it once I see it once...just like Black Swan...

As for Casshern Sins, I don't know who programmed that little robot girl to be so unbearably SWEET AND ADORABLE but holy mother of God My Little Pony's not as saccharine as this robo-toddler.

Looking forward to Cowboy Bebop. Haven't seen it in forever!

I am definitely watching Toonami every weekend! I GOT TO OR IT MIGHT GO AWAY AGAIN! 8<

Same, hopefully it'll become big enough to get an earlier time slot and start airing some of the classics. I was getting so excited to be able to watch YuYu Hakusho again without having to download it. D:
Spoiler! :
I hope the VG reviews stay as awesome as they were on oldschool Toonami, though. I kind of got an irksome feeling when TOM announced that I Am Alive was on XBL without mentioning PSN. I don't want the game reviews to devolve into over-mainstream-ishness... I want it to balance with the nerdiness like they did on oldschool Toonami when they reviewed stuff like FFX, Ico and Morrowind. After all they are airing it with a bunch of animu, KNOW YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE, [AS].
