Admin Interviewed on The Villain's Corner

Postby Admin » October 24th, 2009, 3:39 pm

The Villain's Corner podcast was nice enough to invite me to their show for an interview on Friday night! The hosts, Robert Paul Shelley and Roy Duncan were a lot of fun to talk to and asked great questions. In the podcast, I talk about how I started Smack Jeeves, what it's like to run the site, and some of the big things that are coming up. Check it out at:

Wow, this was a lengthy interview: over an hour and thirty minutes. One thing I noticed was that you talked sort of calmly, like you had just gotten out of bed. I did learn a lot of interesting things about you, though, and cheers to that. I never heard of the Villain's Corner, but after a Google search I found out that they were originally going to interview DrunkDuck's admin yesterday but didn't get a reply so they stuck with you instead. That's understandable, since their comic's hosted on DrunkDuck, but whatever. Can't wait for your next interview, as we all know it's coming!

Dan The Admin
Thank you so much for being on The Villains Corner to talk about Smack Jeeves! Your devotion to the comic world has changed the lives of many artists.Being able to display their work in a community without chains is liberating and inspiring! Smack Jeeves in my opinion has been overlooked and has never received the Wonderful exposure and acclaim that it deserves. The interface ,the community and the overall appeal of the site is by far and away the best on the net.Thank you for creating and sharing this site with me and the entire internet community. In response to a posting that someone put up there seems to be some confusion! I did not request an interview with Dan after being turned down by Drunk Ducks Administrator.Dans interview was not second on my list nor was he a back up for a turned down interview. Its true that Roy the creator of The Villain next door tried to get an interview with the administrator of Platinum Studios several months ago but that incident was an entirely separate from my intention to talk to Dan the administrator of Smack Jeeves! My main focus was to talk about the upcoming changes for the site along with the new templates that won in a contest thrown by Dan! Thanks so much for your devotion to the web community and for being gracious enough to be on our podcast Dan! All the best Robert Paul Shelley And Roy Duncan

Oh, I'm extremely sorry for the mix-up. But yeah, thanks for the interview. Like I said before, I learned a lot and it was an enjoyable experience throughout.

Wow. You sound like you really do care about this website. I'm not too crazy about SmackJeeves because it doesn't feel tightly but listening to this podcast changed my mind. This websites not so bad. The community in the other hand I'm not too crazy about.

Dan exists in real life? The illusion is broken.

That was really interesting, Dan. Although I have of course read about your dedication to the site, it was weirdly comforting to hear it actually said. I'm excited as anyone to see the new template, and to witness the various changes in the works. Here's to the next 5 years of great times, big changes and wonderful hosting! I'm ready to help as much in the future as I hopefully have done in the past.

Currently listening to it right now and it's pretty interesting.
I noticed at one point though, you said the file-size limit on pages was 500kb and not mb... That made me let out a little nerd-chuckle. X3

Also, it's weird hearing your voice. :O
I'm so used to imagining your posts and stuff in a funny old butler voice just 'cuz of your avatar. XD

Wow, you really do a lot of work on the site. It's amazing, and I can't wait for the new site layout. Considering all the stuff you have done, it's going to be one more awesome thing to look for.

Yeah same here.

This is worst than the time I found out the guy coming down my chimney was not Santa.

You should squeeze in "I Say!" in any future interviews.

I'm am astonished that you did this all on your own, really great job. Sure you may hear that a lot, but what you are doing is a great thing for any of us here, for you to host thousands of comics and artists. Seriously this site is better than Comic Genesis, I've been there trying to load some of my work but Smack Jeeves tops it just because of its service and easy to use layouts. Again great job and thank you for making this site XD
