Is there any possible way to use this feature on the News Page? I'd really like if my readers could see the alt text of my comic that appears on the news page instead of having to go to the "latest comic" page because they often don't know that there is one.

No, there is not. If you want people to know about your alt text, do it consistently (alt text on every page), and post a News post on your site reminding people that there is alt text. Or add it to your layout, even, or mention it in the author comments.

That's actually a fair request, and was pretty easy to fix. It should be there now.
