Why should I read your comic?

Postby BjBomb3r » June 28th, 2012, 9:24 pm

No seriously, why should I?

There are millions of web comics on the internet ( :? ) and each one is vying for attention. Tell me what sets your comic apart from the rest! What makes your comic better?? Art style? Story telling style? Do you end on cliff-hangers a lot? Perhaps you provide a lot of fan-service???

What makes your comic unique??

I for one absolutely LOVE to end on cliff hangers!

The fact that it is on the internet is not unique enough?

Well fuck, time to pack up my pencils and photoshop and leave then.

.............................. o_o

Ummmmmmmmmmm... ._.

I dunno, being totally un-unique characters in a lot of colorful unique characters?

ummmmmmmmmm... "bara" art sense?

ummmmmmmmm.... this takes places in Indonesian setting?

Ummmmmmmmm... trying to be "down-to-earth"?

In all seriousness, I got no clue why you should read my comic. Maybe for a good chuckle from bad jokes?

Ahem:

A person with two heads, four arms, four legs, two bodies, only one conscious mind, and an acting career. That not unique enough?

Plus, we're planned to actually start sometime in the next few months, so it's also new.

I got a bad-ass leading lady kicking all sorts of demon ass in Hell with high explosives, small armaments, and sharp objects. And there will also be melodrama.

It's a 32 page one shot. The first couple of pages have been posted. The rest will be posted twice a week.

*edit - that was for Chelsea and Kitty, but t1p2's comic also has cool boobs in it.

My piece of awesomeness (Ranger House) is a clumsy effin kind-of but not really actually mash-up of this show:
Spoiler! :

with this show:

(Which also imply that I toned down the vulgarity since my comic is not quite about that)

It is "episode" based and is most of the time partially animated like this page:

It is also fully colored, has silly humor and really awesome flashy action. (Note from the day I posted this post: The action hasn't started yet.)

Well, for one thing there's:
Image
Spaaaace, explosions, abs, guns, motorcycles, barbwire haymakers, rocketships, long hair, explosions, war, mars, fashion!, genetic splicing, bouncing pectorals, pseudo dictators, explosions, robots, hackers, politics, hovercars, murder, hoodies, explosions, deep stares, social crimes, science, meteors.

And EXPLOSIONS.

In all seriousness though, I wrote this story in the same manner as playing a 4 player chess game. Each side has their own goals, and their own strategy. There's no good guy, there's no bad guy. There's just perspectives, vicious battles, and in the end: winners.

You should read it if you think you're ready to handle several punches to your emotional face. Fair warning.

Well, let's see... what makes my comic stand out from the crowd?

On the art front, my style is definitely my own. By that i mean I'm not mimicking any popular print comic or the like.
I'm clearly not drawing manga, tho it shows strong Japanese influence... sooo, i guess i'm somewhere between manga and western, and there ain't really that many comics out there that use a "hybrid style".

On the story front, what i got is more like two stories that constantly cross each other.
The two stories themselves may not be particularly unique:
The first is your classic Police plot, where the cops gather hints and a list of suspects, and then they gotta find out who's the real murderer. It's a kind of story seen often on TV series and movies, but not so much in webcomics (investigative comics generally tend to delve into the supernatural).
The second plot is like an exploration of the personality of one of the main characters, trough her daily life, dreams, flashback episodes... it's more or less what you see in real-life comics.
I guess the uniqueness factor comes from how i interlace the two plots and how they'll merge into one ending.
