Someone has probably already thought of this but would anybody be interested in starting some sort of storyline with rpg elements where each poster plays the lead character from their comic? This way we meet new people, we read eachothers comics and it might help jump start ideas for some of us that are in a rut. Just a thought

Sounds neat though. It'd probably be more interesting if people could RP with any of their characters though, not just their lead.

Id be cool with that. This is just an idea. Was curious if anyone was interested and if so we can put up a system to make it work. I just assumed most people would chooose their main. Also, alot of fans from each comic would come and read so we would have a grerat chance at also boosting eachothers fan-base as well! Anyways shout out ideas and let me know if this interests you.

What kind of plot/setting are you thinking? How funny/serious are you thinking? Would this be a forum-based thing, or would this be a comic or maybe a mixture of both?

EDIT: Also, GAHH it's so hard to choose between whether I'd want to play as Chelsea or Kitty... Probably Chelsea... This would help me write her better... I'm down with this thang. Let's do it.

Well I do alot of text based rpg'ing so I guess I could fill people in on the general rules of text based rpging but first I wanted to address the issue of the plot which I have been thinking over. One of my ideas was this. All the characters that are involved KNOW they are comics. They all come together into one spot one day when the Smack Jeeves server crashes. This results in worlds colliding with worlds. Basically, each comic 'world' is invaded by the antagonists of an alternate comic. Our characters missions are to enter each world, clean up the mess, return the story to normal before continuing to another story. To which comic world we go and whos worlds enemies we will be facing will be chosen either at random or by vote. The person who's world we are in is responsable with providing atmosphere, interactions, locations, and basic scenarios. The person who owns the comic from whom we draw the villian from is in control of the enimies we face. The person who owns the comic we go into gets to decided how their world has gone wrong and what must be done to set it straight.

I could write more but I wanted to see if people approve or think we should do something else

Like my character Jinx, Her comic is(or is gonna be) her put into the role of Link from the Zelda series. Granted she is her own character but her antagonist is Ganon.

Or the comics who don't have focused antagonist would have issue with that set up.

Mine doesn't have a clear antagonist exactly, but I don't think I'd have an issue with coming up with something. I'm fine with this plotline.

... Eh, I'd pass. Not terribly interested in a giant 4th Wall shatter. I'd only be interested in this if we didn't start some big overarching story but instead role-played and formed the story ourselves as we went on.

Also, given the question "Is this serious or comical" I really think thats the beauty of it. Say school-girl A returns to homeroom with 4 muscled men with guns and swords. It is now her responsibility to explain, hide, or get them to adapt for the time being. Or say 'Cuddly bear' enters the robot apacalypse. He could either have to have a persona inner battle of emotion after seeing the horrors of war. Could become the comic releaf by becoming a stuffed bear with a bazooka, or tries to make everyone sit down and resolve their differences as scud missles are launched 54 miles away. As for stats and all that this should be treated the same way you treat your characters while making your comic. Use judgment, be realistic and put on a good show. I always looked at the rules of texted based rpg's to be alot like the rules of WWF profesional wrestlng or a civil war re-enactment. If someone points a gun at you and says bang, your shot and it's your job to play it up for the crowd. At the same time other players keep eachother in check. If someone seems to be abusing power we call time out and discuss the issue

That story idea isnt set in stone. Thats why the board is open to discussion. if you have an idea what do you think we should do?

Well, like I said. I'd prefer something that starts out a clean slate that the players can build on.

But that's just me, do what you will with it, haha.
