    1) You may make ONE thread per comic. Not a new thread every month, not a new thread every bump, not a new thread for each author of the comic. ONE thread. That's it.

    2) You may bump once a month. A "bump" is when you post in your own thread in order to send it to the top of the topic listings. The initial topic, updates, news, contests, and all other types of promotional information count as bumps. Also, if your comic has multiple authors, your thread is not entitled to multiple bumps (i.e. one from each author).

One Rainy Day

Postby Crimson Chains » November 7th, 2011, 10:27 pm

Hey! so! My comic is a BL manga with a story line similar to the "prince and the pauper"
There isn't any sex (not for awhile anyway) but the story is sweet
I would much appreciate it if you would take a look at my manga <3
thanks!

It's not bad so far :) my only issues with it so far is the pacing of the comic is super fast!!

Ah! I suppose it is!!
I'm so sorry!!!
This is my first manga so I'm nervous no one will like it! >/////<
So I'm kinda rushing through everything to get to the more interesting points but the pacing of the story definitely enhances the actual events and so i'll try to go at a more natural pace and rely on what makes it naturally interesting to gather a fanbase!
Thanks sooooooooo much for all your feedback! most people don't bother to comment so you have no idea how happy I am to hear all these ways I can improve! I would be extraordinarily happy if you would continue to support my manga!!

haha I feel your pain XD i have 147 pages up and only 15 fans T_T its rare to get comments XD

On deviant art I run my manga help group so I pretty much comment on all the new comics and some of the old ones I see on here =) and I try to share as much advice as I can to help everyone who is starting off =)

well don't rush it too much =) it's the start where you can really show off your characters personality and style, a story is nothing without well developed characters ( think of batman Vs Superman XD Batman is only an average guy but his story and personality are awesome, where as Superman is just a buff guy with a sense of justice =p now think of how many batman fans you know VS superman fans and you'll see what I mean) Don't worry too much about getting to the good parts, just write it at a speed and pace that you find comfortable =] I'll be sure to help anyway I can and I added the comic to my favs =)

I have to agree with what has been mentioned before about the pacing at the beginning is super fast, although saying that it did keep and grab my attention. I did notice the pace slowed down to a better pace come chapter 2. The artwork does look a bit rushed, but the panelling works well. The flow of the story works and for me the strength in your work is the plot. Glad I checked it out :D .

Woah!!! Thanks so much for the comment!! O_O
Sorry I didn't get around to responding, I'm really bad at remembering to check the forum stuff!! XD
Wow! Thanks for checking it out and I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Yeah, I think the pacing got better and I hope to maintain it <3
Sorry the art is super sketchy because my ability to control my tablet pen is reeaalllly shaky! <----Can't draw straight lines with a ruler
XD I'm glad u like the panels but that's just cause I have an awesome tool, there's no skill involved P:
Anyway!!
Thanks so much for reading it and I hope you'll continue to support my manga!!

Yeah so enjoying reading it as it progresses. Have to say the latest updates have made me laugh and smile at how those two's relationship is progressing. Especially the part with the bed scene and the explanation in the morning as to how it happened!

With time and practise I am sure your ability with the graphics pen will improve. I know when I look at my first drawings with a graphics tablet compared to now there is no comparison and that is purely down to practise. If your graphics tablet has a shiny surface, like my first one did, I have to say it does get a bit of practise to get used to not having the grip from the surface you normally expect if you were drawing on paper for example.

When I said I liked your panelling I meant how you come up with the different camera angels and perspectives within the panelling, as opposed to how the panels are made. Hence totally your skill ^_^. I know for me I really struggle to come up with how to put what is in my head as a scene into distinct panels which will make the story flow. Hence why I am so impressed with your work, since irrespective of the art being sketchy you have an engaging story simply because of how you are telling it through your panelling.

Cannot wait for the next update ^_^.

Oh!! XD
Sorry! My lingo when it comes to comics is also pretty bad!
Thanks so much! :D I actually struggle a lot with finding a reasonable angle for the panel! As you've probably noticed I don't draw backgrounds as much as I should so I try and make up for that with different anlges and stuff!
God! Just by looking at the banner for your comic I can tell you're an amazing artist so what you said about my panels being interesting makes me really happy!! XDD
I'll try and get better but it will take time like you said!
I'm glad the recent pages have been good! Although I have most of the story already planned out I still find myself doubting what I just drew on a page O_O;
and yeah my tablet is shiny but the thing I miss most is being able to rotate the paper beneath my pencil TT_TT, I just realized how crookedly I draw!
But anyway! Thanks so much for the comments and I hope you'll continue to support my comic and give me feedback if there's anything that seems weird!
I'll make sure to keep improving in both story and art so as to make it worth your while!

I would never have guessed your struggled with finding angles for panels. Personally with boy love mangas I have read backgrounds don't occur alot, but interesting angles for panel contents does occur alot. Hence you are totally going about it the right way! Thank you for your comments on my banner. For me I try and make up for my weakness in panelling with trying to draw things which look good. Hence I can spend way too much time getting a hand to look right (when I really should be spending more time in making the panelling stronger).

I don't know if you find, but as you draw the story things start to evolve from your original plan. I.e. a kind of organic process. I sense your doubt on what you have just drawn is more of an evaluation process towards thinking how the story is going to progress within the framework you already have.

Yes drawing on a tablet does highlight all the weird things you take for granted when you draw with pencil and paper.

Even within the time I started giving your feedback to now you have improved so much, hence cannot wait to see what you will create in the future.

Thanks so much! :DD
I'm glad the art seems to be getting better and that I seem to be going in the right direction!! XD
Waaaah! You do a really good job of drawing beautiful things though!! O_O I always love detail and such but am far too lazy to actually draw it! So I really like your style and think that focusing on drawing a hand perfectly is just as interesting as different angles!
Yeah! It's like my story evolves and grows in its own! XD But I've noticed that the changes aren't a bad thing at all! The more it grows the more I like it :3 So it really gives me confidence when you say that the story is going well! :D
Once again I really appreciate your feedback and if you ever have anything to say don't hesitate to say it! I'm really thankful for all your comments because it's made me think more about my style and produce better quality work in both writing and drawing!
Lol You pretty much have chapter 4 figured out but I hope you will enjoy some of the surprises that will emerge!! XD
Thanks so much for reading and supporting this manga and I hope you will continue to read it!!
