Looks like I'm one of the 5% that use vector, and 1% that use Illustrator exclusively.

For the most part, Livetrace is a huge time saver (although, it's not perfect.)

I do it traditionally, but I like Deleter Comicworks for the tones and I also like their inking tool. Feels almost like the real thing.

But Paint Tool SAI is a really nice software also for sketching, inking and coloring . I'm thinking about going digital with the comic and I'll be using that one for sketching and inking.

I do my comic completely in SAI, and I'm loving every minute of it. It's so flexible but simple to use. It does lack some tools like gradients, but then again, I've never been too keen on those.

I'm currently using Intuos3 to draw, buuuuut I've got a Cintiq ordered which should arrive within th nex few weeks. I'm so excited to work with it, I hear it's great.

I was using SAI for mine, but I don't have a high cost tablet so I really can't get the range I want, so I moved to traditional for drawing/inking and tone digitally. :3

I have a Kanvus Light64 tablet which costs only $55 but it still gets the job done. (It's all about your efforts)
It's small though, but it's good thing that I draw by wrist. And I do everything digitally nowadays.
I use mainly SAI for everything. I do use PS occasionally for lettering and extra editing.

I'm a heavy Manga Studio EX 4.0 user. I build my comics from ground up in the program. There are many reasons why I like it so much. Speed lines are quick and easy to apply, lines automatically smooth over after I draw them, thousands of screen tones are included, coloring is easy, and I can story board within the program. I have been using this software for five years now and I have no intention of switching.
The only reason I would use Photoshop or Illustrator is to create a logo, but that is it. 8-)

I guess I should post here as my loadout improved since page 7.

I now run Photoshop CS4 and CS6 (got the latter literally a few minutes ago) using a Bamboo Capture tablet. CS6 makes me barf rainbows due to the sleeknessness.

Paint Tool SAI for everything except re-sizing and word balloons since it doesn't support text. So those are done in Photoshop CS5!

Too bad Smith Micro kinda left it at that, though. There's been nothing new(add-ons and such) for MS in years, then again, it's already got mostly what anyone needs.

*Raises hand* Also a big MS user, tones, edits and some parts of logo work. For all the smaller things, it's Gimp... unless there's some form of Photoshop out there that doesn't cost me any of my limbs... :\

There's the "you can't update or activate it" option with Photoshop that may or may not be legally questionable in some countries.

Painter Classic is my poison of choice, it's where I do almost all of the drawing, inking, and coloring. I use Photoshop elements to clean images up and occasionally add effects. The pages I have done so far have no text on them, so I am still debating what I am going to use to add that.

Oooooh. I use a wacom bamboo (little tiny tiny tiny TINY tiny tiny one that fits amongst the clutter on my desk) and photoshop 7 which I stole from my ex for everything.

Which is why I don't like "inking" much, ahaha.
